U.S. 8,258,206 B2 Ashland Licensing and Intellectual Property has obtained a patent for a hydrophobic drag reducing coating composition comprised of a solvent selected from the group consisting of acetone, an aliphatic hydrocarbon, an alcohol, a hydrocarbon and mineral spirits; a plurality of nanoparticles selected from the group consisting of fumed silica, hydrophobic titania, and zinc oxide and a UV stable hydrophobic perfluoro alkyl substituted acrylic polymer.
